The beginning
Three careers, three perspectives
As a foreign policy analyst in Washington, DC, pre- and post-9/11, I’ve got a distinct view of history, and of current events on a macro level. As a startup founder (RIP BuzzShift), I’ve been fortunate to bootstrap a company, successfully exit it, buy it back for an ungodly low sum of money… and then sell it again. Finally, as a CEO of a growth stage agtech company, I’m experiencing things on the entrepreneurial and financial level that very few get to see firsthand.
Why this, why now
I’m starting this mostly because my friends and family, who know my careers, inevitably ask, “what are you thinking about….” This is an attempt to relay what I’m reading and processing on a weekly basis.
If you are curious, like me, and don’t know how to interpret current events, news, or even where to begin to sift news from noise, you’ve come to the right place.
This is intended to be weekly. 3-4 articles, sometimes with a theme, sometimes not; one question to marinate on; and, one friend/colleague I think you should check out.
